If you can find an ATi x1950 PRO (I sold mine for $98 on ebay but you are not going to find it at that price in retail), it is also a very good card, under the 3850 in speed (but I was playing Crysis and COD4 on it) or perhaps the Nvidia 8600 GT. But honestly, these cards are last generation and are only slightly cheaper if at all brand new in retail so you might as well spend the little extra for the 256MB ATI 3850 Pro.

The $100 range is basically what you have already in terms of speed, with only a few updated features. I'm also not sure how you have 1.4GB of ram, that's a very odd number...your system might be sharing memory with your integrated video, already.
