We have very close friends who lost a son, not as an infant but as a teenager. When they talked about their loss with us, this was how they tried to explain it to us.

They said that since they lost their child, they feel like they now belong to this special club, and this special club has the cruelest membership and regisration requirements possible. To be a member of that club, you have to lose your child. It is a club nobody wants to join, yet sometimes you are forced to and unless you have become a member of that club, nobody else knows what that club is like.

I think the parents posting pictures of their dead children are saying, I am a member of this club, and here is what I had to give up to join the club.

No matter if we feel this is creepy or not, let's just let them grieve as they feel best.
