USC's back-ups lost to Stanford. Sure they still should have beat them and but that loss is much not nearly as bad as others when you look at who was playing on the O-line and as DB's for the Trojans.
It didn't really look that any team deserved to be the NC this year. Whether because of injuries, inexperience or just poor play there was no team that stood out and certainly no team that stood above the rest.
LSU gets to credit themselves with the "title" and say they are the best, something they seem to have no problem doing in the past depsite it being obvious there are better teams.
Next year if everyone can stay healthy it looks like there will be a lot of solid teams and a very good chance of getting a legit national champion again.
