Actually, the police (RCMP) wait until they see a good safe spot, than alert the offending driver to pull over. The crest of a hill, a blind corner or a road with no shoulder is not really a good place to be pulling someone over. They have you in front of them, they can wait 23.2 seconds for you to be in a safer location. Believe me, I know
