I don't know if there really was much of a story, but some busybodies did get on them for not having more black characters considering they live in New York City.

I think to take the wind out of that sail there was one episode where George tries really hard to befriend a black person for some reason or other. Someone mentioned maybe that he didn't have minority friends or something along those lines.

In another episode Elaine dated that guy she thought was black and sort of exotic because of it. He was dating her because he thought she was Hispanic because of her last name. When they discovered they were "just a couple of white people" they were both disappointed and I think the punchline was "let's go to the Gap".

Sort of a strange phenomenon where certain people are offended if they feel they are left out of these things. Everyone on the Apprentice, regardless of sex or ethnicity, eventually looks like a buffoon at least for a little while. The characters on Seinfeld were not exactly the type of people you want to look up to. Sure it was all white people, but they were all deranged.
