"Fairytale of New York" is probably their most famous song.# It's a Christmasy themed ditty though and you should probably be wearing a sweater and be within one month of an egg-nog expiry date to really enjoy it.
On another note -- I'm no expert on the alphabet, but I'm not sure you are "generation x" if the Pogues are a newly discovered band for you.# The song was released in 1998, 3 years before the terribly over-rated book called "Generation X".

Am I mixing up my generations? Curses. 1985 here, this would make me what exactly.........
I'm likin' the response so far, 2 replies already and it's getting late. Keep it up!...
EDIT: Figured it out for myself, I was one letter off. Gen-X = 60's - 70's, Gen-Y = 80's-90's. Eeeeep, i'm derailing my own topic though! Disregard this entire post. [/b][/quote]
Ha ha. I don't know what the letters mean either so don't take my word for it. I was born a long time before 1985 but I'm a lot younger than the guy who coined the phrase "Generation X" so I'm as confused as you. By my calculations, if you were born in 1985 then you are probably Generation B2, maybe a C1. I hope that helps.
