Do you really need a deep threat WR when your consistantly the top offense in the NFL? As for a star QB? Trent Green was more than adequate at that time. If 4000 yards a season isn't good enough? What is?
Pretty much any good offensive team in the NFL has all pro talent on the line. Give any QB time to throw and his receivers will get open for him. Especially if the team can establish a running game too it can allow average QB's and WR's to make deep plays. Difference was that a guy like Trent Green was prone to throw INT's and that Kennison wouldn't make the big plays to make that team a consistent winning team nor win any playoff games. IMO they put up good numbers, but they weren't good enough to overcome that defence often enough. Whereas a guy like Manning has won some playoff games and had his team in the playoffs for several straight years before they had a defence that got it together.

I think it's time for King Carl to go too. The Chiefs had a nice run with Marty during the 90's but since he left they have two playoff seasons and one was last year where they got as lucky as you possibly could to get into the playoffs. For two years under Cunnigham they had a 9-7 and 7-9 season, than with Vermeil they were 6-10, 8-8, 13-3 (still couldn't play defence), 7-9, 10-6, than with Herm they're 9-7 and 4-12. So in 9 years they've had four winning seasons and two playoff appearances and a cumulative record of 2 games over .500. Not terrible I mean look at teams like the Lions or how the Bengal have been, but thats a long track record of what amounts to medicrity. They have not won a playoff game since like January of 1994 I think. might even be 93.
