Frankly I kinda like it when a girl swears (I mean not excessively) I think it has to do with some of the arguments above. You'll swear around people you're comfortable with, so it's a sign of acceptance. But there's also the stereotype that girls aren't supposed to swear, so when they do it's hot, nasty hot, like Poison "Talk Dirty To Me" hot.

In the end I'm not surprised that it's about the same male to female for swearing.

As for Daradon's comments, I'm not surprised in the least that the East Coast girls swear more. I once had a living arrangements myself, another guy, and girl. When the girl moved in the swearing in the household increased ten fold. I tell you I almost felt bad at laughing when she'd get mad at something and scream "fataing fata fata"
