Think about it, most people won't swear in front of their boss, but as soon as their boss starts dropping bombs, you feel like you're buds because he's comfortable enough to swear in front of you...it just brings the casualness of any conversation down.

I agree. When you join a new rec hockey team the first thing everyone does in the locker room is curse up a blue streak. "Bonding" then takes the form of raunchy stories and dirty jokes for the first little while.
Then we start sharing our feelings.
