I volunteer at Zoolights and I can guarantee it'll be insanely busy this weekend - there were over 6000 people there this past Saturday night. I'd suggest getting there early or else you might have trouble parking. Gates open at 6, close at 8:30, though they're open till 9.
Sorry, no animals wrapped in lights - apparently some animal rights activists frown on that.
Also you can't go into the buildings, it's an outdoor event only. I think it'd be fun if you haven't been before - some of the lights are pretty neat.
Oh, and a donation to the inter-faith food bank gets you a 2 for 1 admission coupon for a daytime visit in the New Year.
