Honestly, I'd read your platform, but I'd be willing to guess it's more of he same that I heard from every SU candidate I ever saw (lower tuition, get higher on the McLean's ranking, blah blah blah).

Shantz, I'm not running in these elections. Never have, never will.

My point is, if anyone is willing to vote for The Rock in this election, then it's either a form of protest or an ironic twist of student apathy.

I agree they are limited in what they can do as a functioning body, but I would place some blame on an apathetic student body in general. Lobbying is a proven, powerful form of political influence, but we just don't have the numbers at the U of C to justify any large-scale movement of sorts.
My bad, I got you confused with Thunderball for some reason, and you make a valid point. But you can't seriously tell me that the reason tuition has gone up the maximum is because enough students aren't telling the admin that they don't want their tution going up. The tuition going up is a matter or economics, and there is nothing the SU can do about it. Vote or don't vote for whoever you like, the result will be the same. More of the same. [/b][/quote]
Actually, I completely agree with you, and for the record I didn't promise to lower tuition.

My platform centred around a Governmental Affairs Committee, like the U of A Senate has, merely to keep a cordial line of communication thats less partisan... I think tuition is inevitable, and there is absolutely nothing anyone in the SU can do to stop it. That's most of why the Gauntlet felt the need to attack my candidacy.
