I fixed tires back in high school for a couple years.. There is never any guarantee that the repair will work. I found a plenty of tires out there with more than 1 nail in them. The trick to the proper repair is to wet the entire thing with soapy water once you've fixed it and let it sit for a while. Rim leaks and belt separations might not be apparent unless you leave it for a while. One tire I tried to fix had 6 nails of various shapes and sizes in it, I had to tell him it was wrecked with that many holes everywhere. Weirdest thing I ever saw in a tire was a toothpick that punctured some cheap factory continentals. A friggin toothpick!?!
