The humour of both shows is/was quite different. However, the premises of both shows were exactly alike, behind the scenes of a late night comedy sketch show.
I liked Studio 60, but my problem with the show was that it never quite lived up to the opening monologue from Judd Hirsh, about what is wrong with television. It was really quite brilliant and well done. After that, the show was okay, but as I said, for me it never held a candle to the opening 10mins of the pilot.
And so that we are on topic...
Another of my favourite AD moments... when you see Lindsay doing the Kegel exercise tape and Michael says, "You finally found an exercise tape for people as lazy as you." ... then later you see Tobias doing the same tape. Love it.
