But.... Islam is well known in its attitudes towards women, how they are treated quite badly in comparison to our western values. No argument ... their attitude towards and treatment of women is atrocious. But so is China's towards Buddhist and Falun Gong members, and many whites towards natives and blacks, and various African tribes towards various other African tribes, Serbs and Croats, etc., etc, ad infinitum. Unquestionably, the treatment of women by many, not all, Muslim men is abominable, and this story is the tragic result. I guess my point is that intolerance is a human trait and failing, so nobody should cast stones at anyone else. We are flawed as a species in this way, and when taken to the extreme it results in tragedy.
