If i could find a comparable pair for less than the ~$250 i pay i would buy them!
For me it has nothing to do with the name/brand on the jeans, it is about the fit, the look, etc.
I get sooo many compliments on my jeans it is crazy and i am sure that those that do the same here in this thread would out-number in compliments those that do not spend the money to get the best jeans and looks they can. Looking good and with-it without going over the top is easily 50% of the battle for success out there in the real world IMO.
I guess in certain industries it is less important than others, but (for example) being able to pull off a great Friday look while other co-workers use it as an excuse to 'take a day off' is a big deal when it comes to who jumps out in superiors minds as 'with it'. Not to mention the difference in dealing with women....
And i get a LOT of wear out of those expensive jeans. If i wear them 200 times they are only a a bit more per wear over cheap jeans - and i can easily justify an extra $0.85 in value out of each time i wear them when standing next to someone with cheap jeans. ($80 v. $250 > over 200 wears > $0.40 v. $1.25) Even though in relative terms they are much more (more than double obviously), in absolute terms of $/wear it is not that bad IMHO.
I had a pair of cheap Jack&Jills from a shop on 17th Ave once (Hot Gossip or something?) that were alright though?? But they were more of a Sunday-around-the-house jean....
