That has nothing to do with it being the game of the year.
If Halo 3 won GOTY it would have been an even bigger joke. Spike had to invent an award just so Halo 3 didn't get shut-out (Mountain Dew's Most Addictive Game...real surprising Halo 3 won that

Like Cube said, any awards that don't even nominate Mario Galaxy for GOTY are a disgrace.
