You likely won't hear much. This happened to my gf a few years ago. They broke into her car, and several others. However my gf had misplaced her second set of keys to her car, and guess where they were. In her vehicle somewhere, of course.
Here's the good part, after the car was stolen, it was found without any real damage. They returned the car to my gf, and there were notes inside thanking some guy for lending his car. Basically we had notes from 2 girls, their names, a cell phone number all on this note. So we called the cops back and told them we found this stuff in the car. It took almost 2 months for the cops to show up and pick up these notes, and at least look into it. By that point, we had figured out who the girls were who had borrowed the car (they were from the same hometown as my gf), and where they lived in that particular town. I guess the guy stole all this stuff, used the car as a getaway, and just took it down the road to a bar. These girls were drunk after some concert, had misplaced their own car, and the guy lent them my gf's car to get from Calgary to their city in exchange for a cell phone. Real strange story I know.. It took 2 MONTHS to get back to us when we had some serious evidence on this guy (apparently he's on camera breaking into cars all over downtown.)
