I agree, actually. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a simpler, more cinematic story, but the film was a spectacular display of Hollywood mediocrity, full of spectacle but empty of substance. V for Vendetta turned out as well as one could expect, I thought: less nuanced and straying somewhat from the spirit of the graphic novel, but not nearly as terrible as LoEG.
Watchmen is his most dense, complex work, IMO. As a movie, there's a 10% chance of good and a 90% chance of colossally bad.
I'll probably see it anyway, though.
