The more I think about it - Va Tech should be in the discussion.
Yes, everyone will bring up the loss to LSU, but let's remember that game was 3 months ago and both teams are very different teams. Based on their resume, Va Tech is clearly the better choice. Their losses came to BC and LSU - 2 top 15 teams. Only Georgia's losses are comparable among teams in the conversation. They've beat 3 top 25 teams and are playing great football.
VT was ahead of LSU in the BCS before this week, played a better opponent, and beat them more convincingly.
I think it would be a joke if LSU made it - two losses to opponents who are unranked at the end of the season? They'll make it it would be purely on hype than anything else. The same hype that has Dorsey in the Hesiman talk when the guy has been garbage for half the year (due to injury, but that's irrelevant). The same hype that talks up LSU's defense when they allowed 24+ points for 6 straight conference games (including 50 vs. Arkansas).
