Yup...Hawaii clinched a BCS game last night, but in no way should they be any where near the NC game, and I actually really like them. That was a very poor Washington team that they played and it took everything they had to beat them.

Quote:
USC played 4 top 25 teams this season, 2 of which are still there as of today. One of those four was Nebraska, and people talk about the SEC being overrated?
USC played Oregon, ND, Cal, Az St, UCLA, and Nebraska, all teams that were ranked at some point this year. They lost only to Oregon who was #2 at the time and in Eugene and by all of 7 points. The other point no one mentions is that USC plays a balanced home/road schedule playing 6 of each. LSU played 7 in Baton Rouge and 1 in New Orleans (essentially a home game) while travelling 4 times. OSU played 7 at home and 5 on the road.

The SEC IS way over rated THIS year anyhow. At the beginning of the season (and this shows how flawed the whole damn system is) the Trojans had on paper, the toughest schedule of any BCS team in the country. Not a single cupcake scheduled other than Idaho which was a commitment made years ago.

Nebraska and ND ended up being complete dogs, but no one saw that coming. The LSU and OSU teams scheduled dog after dog for their OOC games, and that should be given some serious thought by the voters. As bad as ND and Nebraska are, they are still better than the Kent St./Youngstown St/Akron/Tulane/ LA Tech/Middle Tennesee teams of the world.

With the current set up, teams that want to be considered NC contenders should only schedule very weak OOC games because thats how you have a good overall record at the end of the year. Thats not a good thing for CFB though.
