While I agree with the games are better for xbox argument, as long as the PS3 has staying power...which I believe it does, that argument will be short lived. The PS3 game development will be getting better, the xbox had a huge head start. Right now, some of the greatest titles on xbox are also on PS3 so, I think the title argument is limited.
I have both and prefer the xbox (at this point) because it has a much better user interface. Infrared controlled so you can use a universal remote (Harmony 880). The PS3 is bluetooth so you need a dedicated remote to run it and then your other components. I'm forever answering phone calls at work about how to turn baby einstein on.
Another short term plus of the xbox is the fact that it has rumbling controllers. PS3 doesn't have them yet, not until next year which we will have to purchase. Even then, most of the games don't have rumble built into them either. It's a small thing but the controller feedback definitely puts you deeper into the game.
All that said, I've had one xbox die on me and I don't play very much.
I think they're both great systems, to each his own. The HD argument is a different story. I've never rented a blueray disc for the PS3, as there's very, very few titles and side by side...I really couldn't see that much difference.
