That is a really good idea, I never thought of such a close place... is it "nice" there even though it's not summer? What I mean is, I assume it's like Vancouver with no snow? I am looking to get away from the snow, and see some sights. Another one that comes to mind is the Grand Canyon, but I think that'd a MONSTER drive. I also like the Seattle suggestion because there is something to do there besides "just going" there.
