I know when it comes to gaming, the 360 is the way to go, but dont discount the power of the Blu-Ray on this thing. It's quite a powerful element, which as a standalone would probably cost you about $400. If you plan to watch HD movies in the near future, and think Blu-Ray is the way things will go (and at this stage it looks like it neither format will drop-out), Id give the PS3 some serious consideration. Personally I'm pulling for HD-DVD (not a fan of Sony in general), but if getting a gaming system, it would be really impossible for me to ignore the Blu-Ray factor.
