Hitmen once again completely dominate their opponent, but once again completely lack finish. 2-0 win over Red Deer, with the shots 49-15 for the Hitmen. 104 shots in two games, and only seven goals. Yikes!
J.D. Watt's influence certainly is rubbing off on the Rebels. They just embarrassed themselves in the third after Calgary went up 1-0. Esposito inexplicably got a roughing minor for what was one of the most blatant attempts to injure I have seen in a long time - came from half way across the ice to lay a wicked two handed cross check to the back of the neck of a prone player two feet from the boards. All in the name of "revenge" for a big, clean, hit that Galliardi threw on Strong.
Following that, Polak gets a major and game for crushing a Hitman player - Rowinski, iirc - into the boards nowhere near the play. Probably the first legitimate interference major I've ever seen.
Embarrassing performance by Red Deer all around.
