I had a similar problem with my first car and thought the transmission would need to be replaced. I had a Dodge and took it to a dealership. After putting it on their computers and test driving they found it only had to have the speedometer sensor replaced.

I went to Blaskin and Lane originally and they told me the same thing about doing a tranny flush. I called my mechanic from back home in Nova Scotia and he said it wouldn't do it any good. So if I were you I would have the sensor checked first before doing the flush. Might not be the problem but good to check it first, could save you huge money like it did myself.
