The longer the offence can stay on the feild and eat away at the clock, it means the longer their defence can sit on the side lines and be rested for practice and another tough game next week.

Sure and it is much easier when running the ball and taking time off the clock than by airing it out to Moss for big TD plays. And I think that at 35-3 the defense probably has had quite a bit of rest for the next week.

Do they need to do it? No, but they are and it is fun to watch. Wondering if its going to be 11-0, 12-0, 13-0, ect. It brings a lot of attention to the game and I would say more people like watching vs the others who don't.

Well that is where we disagree. I don't see it as fun to watch and don't understand how others do as well.
It brings a lot of negative attention to the game as well and I am not a believer in the any attention is good attention when you have the profile that the NFL does. The Colts brought a lot of attention the past couple of seasons with their run of undefeated starts and it didn't seem to matter that they weren't running the score up.

My response about Gay was in the posters comment that "they get paid to crush people." Obviously in the Pats did not crush the Colts so Gay (and his teammates) did not do his job in the posters view of what NFL players get paid to do, like Gay felt the Bills defenders failed to do what they were paid to do.
