I'm not a religious whacko but I do have issues with
embrionic stem cell research because it clashes with my religious beliefs. If you are genuinely curious, PM l me and I can explain why.
To give you just a simple idea as to why some "religious whackos" are opposed, it's like this:
By my religious belief: Humans are intelligent design. Our lives are sacred beyond all other animals and life. Sacred Human life begins at conception. To "farm" Human tissues from an embrionic (sacred life) source, is to commit an intrinsically evil act as it abuses one sacred life for the benefit of another life, therefore killing an innocent life for an increased chance to save another life.
Obviously this is from a religious standpoint, and if it does not parallell your views, you aren't obliged by it.
As for whether this type of stem cell research conflicts with some religious beliefs, it doesn't look on the surface to conflict with the sacredness of a life, because it is taken from menstral fluid and not from a human conception, embrio, or fetus.
I find your post to be really offensive. I don't think religion is a basis for bashing people with different beliefs, and I don't think CP would tolerate the same discrimination against someone for their ethnicity or gender or something of that nature. I'm not trying to start a fight, but please try to be more respectful.
I'm not trying to hijack this thread into a religious debate, so please don't start one, if you have questions I would be happy to respond to anyone's PMs. This is all I'm going to say about the religious aspects of this breakthrough in this thread.
