Jayems ... excellent choices.

Among great newer roots releases I'd add Brock Zeman & Dan Walsh's Bourbon Sessions, Lyle Lovett's It's Not Big, It's Large, Todd Snider's The Devil You Know and Patty Griffin's Children Running Through.

Edit: Sam Baker's Mercy album is pretty good too.
