There are few problems I have with drivers, because, well I am a perfect driver
1: This is a merge sign.
When you see one that does
NOT mean you have to slam on your brakes to check for traffic on your left. It means you can continue at your normal speed and make a lane change when it is safe. Deerfoot would probably half as many back-ups if people knew how to correctly read traffic signs. Instead they cause rear-end accidents and huge back-ups for people who are merging behind them.
2: GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE!
This sign means get the @*%# out of the left lane
UNLESS you are passing, and once you pass you move you a$$ back into the right lane. Why do people feel the need to match speeds with someone who is right of them. If you don't want to speed and/or if someone is behind you then move on over. Don't get all pissy pants when someone is tailgating you because you are going 91km in a 90km zone, just because you aren't in a hurry doens't mean the world isn't.
3: This is a turn signal.
Try using one when you are making a lane change or making a turn. And if you don't then don't get mad at me for not letting you in on your turn-off. I am not a mind reader, or at least not at those speeds, and just because you are an idiot and don't know how to use one (please refer to manual if unsure) doesn't mean I should slam on my brakes to let you in last minute.
Most people are decent drivers, however it seems like the small things are what people forget or choose not to remember to do. Read the signage and you will save yourself and others headaches, if you don't know what the sign means than do yourself and the world a favor; cut up your liecense, pick up a bus pass from my your local 7-11 and enjoy the ride.
