Im a "good old boy" am I? If you say so.

You are a left wing/liberal.....in as much as what you have written on this very board numerous times. Is that not true? Are you not proud to be such? Do you find it offensive to be construed as one? Are you denying you are left of center in the political spectrum? If your not one...would you not just join me as a "proud to be a conservative" good old boy speak kind of way?

Be who you are man...dont hide.
So you are annoyed and/or think I presume too much when I label you with the negative aspect of being conservative? Interesting that you don't tag yourself with the negative aspects of a train of thought.

Am I left wing or liberal based on what I write on this board? Maybe with respect to individual rights and freedoms and probably environmental causes, but certainly not with respect to economic policy or the idea of big government. The Governator (Arnold) probably best represents my general perspective, in terms of American politicians. In Canada, the only party that I can vote for in good conscience is the Green Party. Be who I am?? I've never been anything but - or do you mean that if I have a progressive opinion on one thing that I should blindly abandon all independent thought and align my views with what the "Left" says they should be (sort of a leftist conservative approach, if that makes any sense).

As for pride in my beliefs/political views, that is a ridiculous notion, IMO. What possible reason is there to be proud about opinions/political views unless I believe they are better than someone elses? I think some views are demonstrably right or wrong, and these are known as FACTS, of which there are few in these areas. Most others are debatable and will remain so - on those I have an OPINION, enjoy arguing it, believe in my position until shown something that sways my opinion, but I cannot imagine how my opinions should give me some sense of pride (the pride comes from convincing others to share my opinion )

One thing I will say about this Churchill guy - IMO, he is proud to be a crap disturber in the same way many are proud to tow the patriotic line simply because the President says so. I have little respect for either, but I believe both have equal right to have their opinions without reprisal, which is the very point of this entire drawn out string.
