When the Flames were in dire need for fans (99? 2000?) he offered up $1000 in gift certificates for anyone signing up for new season tickets. I collected on the deal. Although i never personally used the gift certificates (gave most away) they were basically equivalent to money and could be used at The Drink, Ceilis, Chop House, Zen 8 and Cowboys.
That seemed like a classy move to help spur the season ticket drive.... which may have helped keep our beloved Flames in town.
