it depends on if you are leasing the vehicle or plan to own it until it dies. If you plan on getting rid of it in a handful of years there is no point. In calgary, with the salt on the roads it is very much worth it if you plan on retaining the vehicle. Plus the rock guard is good because it protect the rocker panel of a vehicle from rocks your own vehicle (and others) kick up.
