But I agree with the owner. Cats are smart. She probably knows these cats roam and allways find there way home. I woudn't worry about it either.

Wow, really? Two sides?
well about a year ago I saw a cat 95% dead just off of 17th ave by about 26th street, we stopped to see if there was anything we could do ... there wasn't it was just lunging at it's back legs that were flatted by a car. That must have been one of the dumb cats.
A few years ago I turned my head when a car going down Acadia drive hit it's brakes, I turned just in time to see a cat get smoked and skid 30 to 50 feet down the road, again, didn't die, it started leaning back and forth trying to stand but couldn't. That was probably a dumb one as well.
There is no 2 sides, anyone who lives in a city and has a cat as a pet AND let's it out unattended sucks, it's a very simple rule actually.
It's true for kids that nothing good happens outside their house at 1am, and same with cats, just that the rule is good 24hrs a day. All they do is stalk other houses with cats, pee on my bar-b-q and fight with other cats.
