Default Isles-Wings Deal

Sources have confirmed a late Wednesday trade in the CPHL between the Detroit Red Wings and the New York Islanders.

The two teams swapped right wingers late Wednesday night as Marek Svatos moves over to Detroit in exchange for Antoine Vermette.

The deal is believed to be a "shake-up" move as neither wingers have met expectations on their respective teams.

Svatos has 2 goals, 4 assists thus far playing on the Islanders' 2nd line with Ryan Getzlaf and Jiri Hudler.

Vermette has 1 goal, 2 assists spending most of his time on Detroit's 3rd line with Vernon Fiddler and Erik Christensen.
