Game Story

After defeating the Senators earlier in the season the Lightning fell 6-2 on Tuesday. After the Senators GM had vowed revenge earlier in the week GM moon tried to get his team ready to ensure this did not occur but the team failed to react to his efforts. Neither goalie played well for the Lightning as Felix Potvin allowed 5 goals on 32 shots and John Grahame allowed a goal on the only shot he faced.

GM moon:

“Once again the goaltending is inconsistent and it hurt us. Although relying on Ferguson and Somik to provide the offense we are going to be in trouble. I am not too mad because with a young team you can expect to see these types of mistakes, but would like to limit the mistakes for the rest of the season.”

There were many Lighting that had poor games as Shane Hnidy was -4 and Lindgren, Hemsky, Bougeniki and Sekeras were all -3.

The Lightning don’t have time to concern themselves with this loss as they head to the center of the universe and will take on the Leafs on Wednesday. The good news for the Tampa Lightning is that Scott Young will be rejoining the team after recovering from his hamstring injury.

GM moon:

“We expect a better effort tomorrow and with Scotty coming back we hope that will help to rejuvenate the offense and hopefully that will translate to a better overall game.”
