Yip! Dogs Neutered
Yip! Dogs Neutered in the Desert
Glendale, AZ - The Los Angeles Kings put in a terrific road performance to neuter the Coyotes in the desert by a score of 4-2. The win comes with elite sniper Martin Havlat still on the injured reserved, but the Kings were able to find the offence they needed in order to overcome the brash Desert Dogs.
"Well we heard that they actually picked themselves to win this game the day before" said Kings coach Mike Keenan with a wide smile. "That just served to motivate us for this game and to put out the performance needed in order to silence them. I guess if their GM could actually predict something he would have won the lottery by now. Their side seemed a little cocky before the game. It didn't seem to be the case during the game however. You can consider the dogs neutered tonight!". After nearly 10 minutes of laughter at this comment throughout the dressing room, Coach Keenan addressed the play during the game.
When asked about the injuries coming into the game, Coach Keenan remarked "We didn't have Havlat and they didn't have Sundin. I think it evens out in the end. It is just a credit to the team that we were able to put a lot of shots on net, create traffic and see some goals go in. They are a great club and it is always difficult to win on the road but we were the better team tonight and I am proud of the guys and their play. We have a very difficult game against the Canadiens coming up and we need to refocus in order to remain competitive."
Notes: The game marked a few firsts for Kings players. Brent Seabrook recorded his first ever goal as a King with newly acquired Matt Bradley adding his first point as a King on the play.
