If you've followed Al Gore's life and political career, this makes perfect sense. For people like me who knew Al Gore's name before he became the Vice-President in 1993, lending his name to the cause of global warming actually makes me more skeptical of a lot of the science.
As for GW Bush's digs in Texas, that was a surprise. There's someone that really didn't need to do any of that for political gain considering I'm sure most of his core voters in 2000 and 2004 would have actually thought worse of him if he were to drive a hybrid car or something like that.
