All I know is that my charger has two settings for 12 volts. 2 amps and I think 6 amps. I use the 2 amp setting for my motorcycle but I think that's a little to much and I'd be better off with a 1amp setting. The 6 amp setting is for car batteries but for a slower, safer charge I guess the 2 amp setting would do.
