This got me thinking, and I thought, if any Chinese restaurant chain would do this, I bet it would be Panda Express in the States, so I Googled Panda Express, and look at what I found:

Apparently, this photo is of a restaurant in Oakland, CA (there's a bigger version on the Wikipedia page for Panda Express). The Wikipedia page says that they started opening stand-alone restaurants with drive-thrus in 2004.

Maybe someone here can get the Canadian franchising rights.
