The Roadrunners were included becuase I was interested in seeing how Western Canada's three NHL cities supported the next best teams during the lockout.
The funny thing is, I remember back when the Roadrunners moved to Edmonton, people on Oilfans were expecting that they would average well over 10,000 fans per game while the lockout is on. While the true attendance has been nothing but wildly successful by minor league standards, the Roadrunners have fallen considerably below Oilfan's expectations.
And yes, Hitmen attendance is only a few hundred fans higher than Roadrunner attendance. However, this was enough for Calgary to be prominently mentioned in national media coverage, while nobody knows or cares where Edmonton's attendance is.
I wonder, did you and your fellow Edmontonians whine to Eric Duhatchek about it like you did when USAToday did that profile on Calgary?
