Right of way in a merge lane is 50:50.. The idea is to make a gap regardless of who was on the main road first. One thing I would like to see if tickets written for people who slam on the brakes in a merge. I lost a guy I worked with because a women panic stopped infront of him while he was shoulder checking on his motorcycle. It was completely her fault and naturally he's the one who pays with his life. Ive actually driven on the shoulder around those people and still made it up to speed to merge effectively.. So whats their excuse??
