I think the person attempting to be the artist is confused.

One classic piece of "art" is a photo taken during the Vietnam War. I shows a little girl; about 8 years old, running down the road in terror. It is "art" because art can make us stop to think; and to put a human face onto large scale event. However the soldiers who dropped the bombs on her village were not the "artists."
