Well, he hasn't really HAD a young QB since Elway's departure. Griese took over, but it was his toughness and leadership not his play that saw him leave Denver. Cutler is really the first shot Shanahan has of proving he can do that. We'll see, so far so good.
I'd hate to see him leave. Stability is an underrated feature of an NFL coaching staff.
