When TOS was cast 40 some years ago, it was a bold and daring choice to have an Japanese man play a Japanese character.

I find it pretty ironic that 40 years later, they have to resort to someone Chinese as there are no other Japanese or Asian actors of sufficient prominence to take a role. *

And GLAAD is worried about gay representation in media. Uh-huh...

Zoe - wow! It's OK to say Uhura's hot again. Bring on the miniskirts! I see she's in James Cameron's Avatar - could be big things ahead for this girl. [EDIT: Bring on the fandance!
