That's the thing, though, (and I don't mean to type this as the start of another big climate change debate,) it's not just
a scientist and Al Gore telling us this is going to happen, or already is. This is many, respectable scientists belonging to some of the top agencies in the world, that spend all day researching and gathering evidence to support the notion. Al Gore, although his intentions were good, just decided to take the initiative and bring it into the public spotlight by doing so through the same medium as most of our news come from: by hypersensationalizing one thing and completely overlooking another.
The AAAS, NASA and even the Pentagon have all published research supporting the theory, and at this point, the evidence supporting that this is happening greatly outrules the evidence that it's not, and these are government agencies that have been able to track weather patterns on other planets, not just our own. I mean hell, congress didn't even demand this much assurance when they voted to enter Iraq, and just look how much money they're spending over there.
