DS9 was, IMO, the best Star Trek made. The characters, the acting, the war... it was just fantastic.

I am the first to say that Star Trek has not been doing well lately but I love it and grew up with it.

This movie I have hope for. With J.J. Abrams at the helm and a script that he has said forced him to direct the movie (he was on the fence before he read the script, but said it was so good he had to direct), and some really good young actors I think this could be a great movie.

Also, it is worth it to note that this movie is being considered a blockbuster with a prime release date and a budget of $150-160 million.

Obviously not all blockbusters are good movies but Paramount IS giving the money, people, and effort required to make the film a success.
