nvu is pretty good.
There is also Eclipse.. but that is more of programming Integrated development environment. Mind you, if you are interested in learning a web programming language alone with an HTML editor.. it would be a good choice.
Probably the best choice would be Aptana (based on Eclipse). But it provides plugins for Ruby on Rials, PHP and probably a few more.
As well as gives you a powerful html editor.
