A lady had her house broken into 3 times and got fed up. So she booby trapped her home with electrical wires and put up signs that stated that if anyone tried to break in they'd be fried. Not long after, a cocaine addict tried to break into her house and got electrocuted to death.

The family of the deceased sued her for wrongful death, stating that there was no guarantee that when he entered the house, he was there to steal. The case dragged on to a point where the victim of the break in died. The family of the deceased continued suing her family. In the end, the judge ordered that $150,000 be paid to the cocaine addicts family, but conceded that the addict was partially responsible and reduced it to $75,000.

I guess that'll learn me to protect my belongings :P
