Here is another look at 'Man Vs. Wild' - "In one example, the original showed Grylls eating a rabbit he claimed to have caught in a trap. In truth, the crew provided the rabbit for him. In the new version, a voice-over from Grylls explains, “My trap didn’t catch anything overnight, but I’ve been brought a rabbit to tell you what to do if you’re luckier than me.”
ohhh man, you are kidding me? i feel totally duped. my husband loves those survival shows. when he was in the marines he took "mountain warfare" school. they dropped him off on top of a mountain with his clothes on his back, a knife, and i think a little thing of matches and a little sterno can. i'm not sure if he had a water container. i know he wasn't allowed a tent, sleeping gear, or food. the plane (or helicopter or whatever the heck they used to transport these guys) came back for him 2 weeks later. so he can relate with these guys. he says he sat over a gofer hole for an entire day with a rock b/c he got sick of eating bugs. for the marines he eats bugs, i get him and suddenly he becomes a picky eater.
