HAHA
Now that's funny. You're making fun of the Stampede, while defending a mall with a hotel and roller coaster in it? "Pack your bags honey, we're going the MALL".
C.O.P. is a Canadian olympic training center, home to CODA (Canadian Olympic Development Association), and hosts world class events like Bobsled/Luge/Ski Jumping/Mtn Biking/Snowboarding world cups. Not to mention draws quite a few tourists year round to tour said venues, as well as eat at the first rate restaurant at the top. You didn't see the Amazing Race last year? The episode that was held in Calgary?# That was COP.
It's also 4 blocks from my house, and I hit it up year round, as it has one of the biggest snowboard parks in the Rockies, and one of the biggest downhill/freeride mountain bike parks east of Whistler. Last I checked Rabbit Hill was just a little behind in those regards.....so was the mall.
While West Ed clearly outdraws Eau Claire, I'm saying that to me even something as small as it has more to offer than West Ed does. Hey...at one point it even had a Hard Rock# # I should mention most NHL teams stay at the Sheraton Eau claire when in town, so they must be doing something right (that or it's a few blocks from the peelers....we'll never know). Although I'll admit I have no idea if the Flames stay in the French Polynesian theme rooms when playing the Oilers, so maybe they're equal.
I don't wear rouge glasses, I hate the Stampede probably more than I hate West Ed. I usually go on holidays due to the ######ed amount of tourists that come out here and act like idiots.

People would rather go to a entertainment complex, instead of a pathetic little rodeo.
Be honest - how many people actually care about Bobsled/Luge/Ski Jumping, etc?

More people care about those sporting events than shopping, that's for sure. Or do they have live broadcasts, with play by play announcements whenever people board the roller coasters? I must have missed those the last time I was there. [/b][/quote]
Funny, Ping Pong is on CBC too. You think anyone gives too hoots about them?
Like I said, there's NOTHING in Calgary that's comparable to West Edmonton Mall. Hard for you to realize that, because you're a Calgarian, so understandable.
The only reason Calgary gets ANY tourists is because of Banff.
